AMEZ was awarded the final license from BEZA on January 03, 2017 as part of the Prime Minister’s vision of establishing 100 economic zones in Bangladesh and creating ten million jobs. The first phase of AMEZ’s development work will commence on 142 acres.

It was given in a ceremony at the BEZA office. Many prominent persons from BEZA and AMEZ were present. ASM Mainuddin Monem (MD of the AMEZ and DMD of AML Group), expressed his gratitude to the PMO and BEZA for the final license. He also shared his vision and AMEZ’s participation in the nation building process. He described his future plans to expand AMEZ to 400 acres. ASM Mainuddin Monem also pointed out some of the challenges PEZ’s are facing regarding land and sorting out any ambiguities in land ownership. He also pointed out how competitive the pricing would be among all the PEZs and Government EZs.

The executive chairman of BEZA Paban Chowdhury handed over the final license to ASM Mainuddin Monem (MD of AMEZ). He expressed his happiness and optimism about the AMEZ. He said AMEZ hired the best design company, JDI to develop the master plan of AMEZ. He also pointed out that the AMEZ team is very professional and is comprised of the best and most experienced officials. Paban Chowdhury expressed his desire to see the continuous development of the land and project site of AMEZ. He said, he is very optimistic that AMEZ’s construction will be world class, as it is backed by the best construction company of the country AML.

ASM Mohiuddin Monem (DMD of AML Group) was also present in the ceremony. He pointed out why AMEZ’s policy and terms are different from other PEZs. He said AMEZ is solely focused on the nation building process and making its facility as friendly as possible to foreign investors.

Previously AMEZ received the pre-qualification license for establishing a PEZ on June 16, 2015.
